This Federal-style building was based on the designs of Charles Bulfinch (1763 - 1844), who is most famous for his design of the new State House (1798) and the Faneuil Hall Expansion (1806).

The Marshall House Restaurant opened in 1983 and served Boston and its visitors for twenty-two years.
